    Lockdown Birthday Parties!

As lockdowns continue, more and more children’s birthday celebrations are taking place at home in a much simpler way. In fact they are very much like the parties I had as a child and I, for one, think that’s a good thing! Trends come and go but some things are just too good to ever go out of fashion; pass the parcel, musical statues, cheese and pineapple hedgehogs, and jelly and ice cream to name but a few! If you’re unsure where to start or just want to be sure you have all bases covered, check out my top lockdown birthday party tips! Party Theme and DecorationsA birthday tea at…

    Christmas table fun for everyone!

Christmas with my family always revolves around the table. For one thing, Christmas for us is a non-stop eating and drinking marathon! But it’s also where we get to spend quality time together chatting, and most importantly having fun! It’s fair to say, the little ones tire of the table pretty quickly though, unless there’s something really cool to keep them entertained! Due to Covid, my parents and I can’t visit my sister and her young family this year, so my sister and her husband are spending their first year alone with the little ones. It’ll be special for them to be together as a family unit, but it does mean…

    Bonfire Night with a bang!

I’ve always loved October and November because there’s so much to look forward to! Halloween, closely followed by Bonfire Night, and then it’s the Countdown to Christmas! But once again, we find ourselves wondering how we’ll be able to celebrate another of our fabulous traditions this year. It’s so important we don’t let these events pass without celebration as they are such fun for children, and us big kids too! And let’s face it, we all need something to look forward to right now! With most of us back in lockdown shortly, a celebration at home with those in our household is the way to go. But how can we…

It’s hard to believe that Halloween is fast approaching but, it is, and in true 2020 style it looks like it’s going to look a little different this year. But, that certainly doesn’t mean Halloween is cancelled – far from it, in fact! While the normal trick or treating and Halloween parties may not be possible, Halloween falls on a Saturday this year so, it’s a great opportunity to celebrate all day at home giving both you and the children something fun to look forward to! Here are my tops tips for celebrating Halloween at home this year. Structure your celebration It doesn’t matter if things don’t run exactly to…

Our guide to theming your party!

During lockdown I rediscovered many of my favourite comedies and when I starting re-watching the first series of Motherland and saw the episode where Julia is inviting the other parents and children to her daughter Ivy’s birthday party and Anne asks her “what’s the theme?”, it made me chuckle. The look of terror on Julia’s face says it all as she realises the party is going to involve a lot more time and effort than she had planned to put in and a lot of judgement from the other parents! But I’m here to reassure you that firstly, party planning these days can be done by ordering from a few…

Create an Instagram worthy party table without spending a fortune!

Here at Party Box by Design, we love a traditional home birthday party and believe that fun, above everything else, should be at the centre of every children’s party. What’s more fun than creating a fabulous themed birthday surprise for your child, with love, and without spending a fortune. Mrs. B, otherwise known as Becky (Mum of three), does just that at least three times a year. From a penguin theme for her daughter, Imogen, to a tractor party for son William, and Harry Potter for eldest daughter Lydia, Mrs. B has shown she can turn her hand to any theme, but it’s her recent Toy Story themed party for…
